This post is part 2 in our video series that takes a direct look at the Centurion Opti-V Hull and how it compares to it’s two major competing boats on the Market – a Malibu 24 MXZ and a Nautique G23.
The first video in this series was the most shared, talked about and debated post we have ever made – with thousands of people viewing it and hundreds of people weighing in on the results. As a quick recap here is a summary of the results from our fuel economy test for wakesurfing:
Gallons of fuel burned per hour while surfing: Centurion Ri257 w/ 5,050 lbs. of ballast – 8.25 GPH Nautique G23 w/ 2,850 lbs. of ballast – 13.5 GPH Malibu 24 MXZ w/ 3,000 lbs. of ballast + wedge – 17.5 GPH
There were a number of points that were brought up in the reactions that people had to this [...]
If you’ve spent much time looking on our website or poking around online you’ve probably come across some pretty unbelievable information about the new Centurion Opti-V Hull. We made this video because the claims about the Opti-V hull are exactly that – almost “Unbelievable”.
I mean, come on… 50% better fuel efficiency? A better wakeboard wake than the best wakeboard boats on the market? Faster acceleration than a flat bottom boat?
Yes, and this is where we prove it.
Earlier this fall we took out 3 boats – a Centurion Ri257, Nautique G23 and Malibu 24 MXZ, hooked a diagnostic computer up to them and got the raw data on fuel economy, acceleration speed, noise rating, etc. Big thanks to our friends and team riders for letting us use their boats to do these tests! If anyone has a comparable boat from a different brand let us know and we are happy to do this [...]
In this post we have a video that we shot doing something we have never seen done before. We are showing you the surf wave, wakeboard wake and ski wake behind the same boat – all in one take; completely unedited, untouched and shot on an iPhone7. This hopefully shows you the performance of the new Opti-V hull as well as the speed and versatility of the Ramfill ballast system.
When showcasing the “crossover” performance of other wake boats you typically see something like this: -The ski wake with one driver, no passenger, and no ballast. Typically these are shots of the skier outside the wake and never showing the skier going through the wakes. -A different set of shots of the wakeboard wake with 8 passengers, full ballast and a pro rider with camera angles designed to make it look bigger and cleaner. -Another set of shots of the surf wave [...]

Since it was first rumored the most common questions we get on the new 2018 Centurion line all center around one thing – the Fi Series. This new boat series for 2018 is unlike anything that we have seen, either from Centurion or from any other inboard boat company. The following hopes to answer the most important and frequently asked questions about the Fi:
Why did Centurion build the Fi?
The Fi Series is designed to meet a number of customer desires that were not being met fully within the existing Centurion offering. The goal of the Fi series was to create a boat with a unique look, an unbeatable value proposition, and legendary performance.
What is the cost?
The value proposition of the Fi is incredible. Many of the options and features on the Fi are a-la-carte, allowing you to choose the options important to you while maintaining the top notch [...]
Comments Off on Utah Surfest Wakesurf Boat Reviews
On June 24-26 we had the opportunity to participate at the Utah Wake Surf Fest. This is a fantastic event that allows people to surf on and review surf boats and waves from nearly every boat manufacturer. The best part for anyone reading this is that the results of the event, including detailed scoring of every aspect of the boats tested, is published for everyone to see. In this article we are going to break down the reviews for each boat and take a closer look at what people thought about each of the boats.
THE EVENT Before jumping into the details, it is important to understand how the event worked. A total of approximately 30 riders tested a number of boats and boards at Jordanelle reservoir, getting to spend approximately one hour surfing behind each boat over 2 days and spending considerably more time hanging out inside the boats while others were surfing. [...]
Comments Off on Rocky Mountain Wakesurf Open August 12-13 Pineview Utah
We will host some of the best riders in the world along with a bunch of local non professional riders August 12-13 at Pineview Reservoir in Northern Utah at the Rocky Mountain Wakesurf Open. Please come and join us for 2 days of awesome fun.
In the attached video I show you a very basic setup for the Centurion Ri237 Goofy side surf wave. Before we get comments on how your surf setup is so much better etc, please remember that this is a very basic example. The Ri237 can make a bunch of different wave shapes and sizes and this will help those of you new to the boat get a good starting point and show you the basics of how to change the wave. Just for reference I weigh approx 220lbs and ride a Phase 5 Danielo Diamond skim style board.I like the wave steep but not verticle. To make the wave steeper just do the opposite of what this video shows. We get a bunch of questions on this subject and I hope this helps to get you a starting point to develop the type of wave that works for you and those you ride with.
We often get asked why someone would choose a Centurion over a Supreme and vice versa. Both are great boats that deliver incredible performance at an amazing value. The easiest way to figure out which is best for you is to compare the similarities and differences between the two lines.
Centurion and Supreme share some common things these include.
ICS Unibody Construction of the hull, deck and stringers. (Full integrated fiberglass seat bases, snap out carpet and single piece deck and hull).
Industry Leading Quality and Processes – Both boats are built in the same factory with similar grade materials and processes. No cutting corners to make a “cheaper” product with Supreme.
The same grade artisan gelcoat graphics.
Surftech-V hull Technology – Though they are each optimized for their respective designs, both are equipped with the only true wakesurf hull design (Supreme is the only value class boat that has been allowed to pull World Series of Wakesurfing Events).
PCM Hyperformance Direct Injection Engines – [...]
