The Fi Series

Since it was first rumored the most common questions we get on the new 2018 Centurion line all center around one thing – the Fi Series. This new boat series for 2018 is unlike anything that we have seen, either from Centurion or from any other inboard boat company. The following hopes to answer the most important and frequently asked questions about the Fi:

Why did Centurion build the Fi?

The Fi Series is designed to meet a number of customer desires that were not being met fully within the existing Centurion offering. The goal of the Fi series was to create a boat with a unique look, an unbeatable value proposition, and legendary performance.

What is the cost?

The value proposition of the Fi is incredible. Many of the options and features on the Fi are a-la-carte, allowing you to choose the options important to you while maintaining the top notch [...]

In the 2017 Centurion line there are a few different motor options to choose from and we get a lot of questions about which one to pick. In particular there are 2 different engines available in the Centurion Ri Series that are each excellent options depending on what you are looking to achieve – the PCM H6DI and XR7. Here we will dig into the details so you can determine which one would be right for you.

At face value the motor specs are pretty self explanatory: PCM H6 = 450 HP and 465 ft. lbs. of torque PCM XR7 (Supercharged) = 550 HP and 570 ft. lbs. of torque As you can see the XR7 delivers significantly more horsepower and torque, however there is a bit more than meets the eye when it comes to these engines and their performance. While horsepower is important when looking at the performance of a boat engine, the [...]

On June 24-26, 2016 we had the opportunity to participate at the 2016 Utah Wake Surf Fest. This is a fantastic event that allows people to surf on and review surf boats and waves from nearly every boat manufacturer. The best part for anyone reading this is that the results of the event, including detailed scoring of every aspect of the boats tested, is published for everyone to see. In this article we are going to break down the reviews for each boat and take a closer look at what people thought about each of the boats.

THE EVENT
Before jumping into the details, it is important to understand how the event worked. A total of approximately 30 riders tested a number of boats and boards at Jordanelle reservoir, getting to spend approximately one hour surfing behind each boat over 2 days and spending considerably more time hanging out inside the boats while others [...]

Surf Systems 101

A comparison of all of the surf systems offered in the inboard market

Over the past few years we have seen a whole bunch of “Surf Systems” hit the market.  With so many options to choose from, a lot of people are left asking, “Is one better than another?” In this post we want to talk about the systems, what makes them different, and to try to cut through the marketing rabble to take a serious look at how they compare. I am going to apologize in advance; this topic gets pretty deep, and covering it is necessarily long. So sit back, grab a drink and forgive me for taking up a chunk of your day – I will do my best to make it worth your while.

Before we jump in, it is important to note that you should take some of the information with a grain of salt because we are not just comparing the systems, but comparing the systems on the boat that they are [...]
