You wanted the hardcore, and now you have it. Your
desire was to have a machine built exclusively to produce a wakeboard wake
that would boost unlike any other. You picked the Avalanche because you
knew that it sat deeper in the water than any other boat in the industry.
You knew with a 30” draft (the deepest in the industry) that the Avalanche
would naturally throw out bigger wakes than any other boat in its class.
You knew with the specially tuned super deep V hull that the Avalanche’s
wakes wouldn’t just be big, but would have a crisp, sharp lip at the top.
You read the rave reviews in Wakeboard Magazine about the incredible rough
water ride, steep wake transition and extra-long landing zone produced by
what they called a “giant of the wakeboard industry,” and started dreaming
about it before you ever stepped inside.
When you first climb into the Avalanche, you begin to
understand what you had heard about it. It’s as hardcore as a wakeboard
boat can get, yet it feels like a luxurious family boat on the inside. With
the Avalanche you had the choice between having a transom walkway or dual
rear storage hatches, and couldn't be happier with having that option.
You start to notice all of the sweet amenities that you know you will really
grow to love – things like the plush snap out carpeting, the soft 43mm
premium vinyl, the gelcoat-lined interior, the spacious cockpit and the
comfortable playpen bow.
As you start to look around, you notice features that weren’t obvious at
first. You lift the back storage lockers to find compartments so large
and deep you could easily climb into and fall asleep. Next you open the
engine hatch to reveal the standard 5.7L Mercruiser Black Scorpion MPI
Powerplant which starts to make your heart race. As you remove each
seat in the main cockpit, you reveal more and more storage under each
seat until you reach the observers seat, which conceals a main storage
compartment that seems to go forever.
As
you climb into the driver’s seat and grab the steering wheel, you feel
the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. The optional Perfect
Pass Wakeboard Pro cruise control sitting in the dash will give you the
pull you expect every time, while the ballast and optional
Switchblade controls will allow you to tweak the
size and shape of the wake to perfection.
At first
glance, the Avalanche just looks tough, but after experiencing it, you
would swear it runs more on adrenaline than fuel. The Avalanche is
about as hardcore as a wakeboard and wakesurf boat gets, without
sacrificing the comforts and amenities you have come to expect on
anything with a Centurion emblem. You wanted the hardcore, and the
Avalanche has delivered. It’s just what you asked for.
